Muhammad is the messenger of Allah’ in Arabic); at the sides, ‘ṣalla ˗ ʿalayh’ (‘May [Allah] bless him’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘wa sallam sana thamān wa tisʿīn [wa sitta miʾa]’ (‘and grant him peace. Year 698’ in Arabic). Rev. Within a circle, ‘Tegriin / Kucundur / Gasanu / Deledkeguluk / sen’ (‘Under the power of heaven, struck by Ghazan’ in Uighur); ‘Ghāzān Maḥmūd’ in Arabic in the center; three letters in Mongol Phags-pa script to the left: ma, kha, za; date repeated to right and left, ‘fī sana thamān ˗ wa tisʿīn’ (‘In the year [6]98’ in Arabic).
